The driver was courteous, obedient and had a great sense of responsibility. He was most punctual and did not mind any odd hours of duty when our programme demanded such hours. He was more than a chauffeur to us. He was a good guide  and was more helpful in that capacity also. Always dressed in spotless white and always ready to be service, we never for a moment realized that Sri.Gopalan had been with us for the last few years. I would have persuaded him to come with us to Bombay. My wife and wish him well. ........Kerala is a wonderful land ........wonderful people , Green rice fields, Palm groves, lush green lagoons .. spectacular snake boat race with hundred oars-men in each boat, golden coasts for sunbathing, swimming, surfing and fishing . Excellent game sanctuary at Thekkady where one can view the Indian Wild  Elephants at its natural environments Kathakali , Keralas dance drama is fantastic .
Engulfed between Arabian sea and Western Ghats, it is a land of surprises .. Kerala  is more  beautiful than Kashmir in many respects. I was really impressed by the driver of KUMAR TAXIS at Cochin, who  drove me all over the State. A graduate in economics from a Kerala University, he was well behaved, decent and cultured . Explained everything in beautiful English, ofcourse with a peculiar Indian accent. More than a driver he was a friend, philosopher and guide to me .
Politically left conscious, his leanings were towards the Communist Party and and  explained from Kerala politics to United Nations Charter.. how Kerala has experimented with different Political parties, how dozens of ministries had fallen in his State, how they have voted to power Communist party through ballet boxes, which now Karl Marx would not have dreamt in the meantime he said all the Drivers of Kumar Taxis had strict standing instructions not to discuss politics with Foreigners . No Prohibition in Kerala .. No Visitor domestic or foreign choose to visit another  land just for boose. Tourist come mainly to relax and holiday and not to listen the sermons on the virtues of prohibition by the wheather beaten politicians.

Very good HOLDEN KINGS WOOD A/C CAR and the driver is very able and alert. He has a thorough knowledge of all the roads in Madurai, Tirunelveli and in Kanyakumari district, which I travelled. ………… On the way to Thekkady at Kottayam Town  I asked  the driver to get a pineapple, which I saw in plenty on road side……He brought one Kilo of apple…….
